FULL SPEED AHEAD FOR ATG PROGRAMMING TEAM
Issued : 27 June 2002
The new programming team at the Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) is now in place under the leadership of Programming Director Michael Lynas, who took over from Robert Cogo-Fawcett at the beginning of June.
Based at the Duke of York’s Theatre in central London, the team has responsibility for the programming ATG’s West End and regional venues.
Joining the team as Head of Programming (and Michael’s deputy) is Rachel Tackley, formerly Producer at Shared Experience. Rachel’s chief responsibilities are for the regional programming. Also in the department are Matthew Gordon as Programming Associate and Gordon Millar (Programming Assistant) who joins ATG from Theatre de Complicité.
Michael Lynas said: “I am very happy to announce the new line-up in ATG’s programming department. It’s marvellous to have Rachel on board as Head of Programming, and I know that her experience and enthusiasm will be of tremendous value to the department.”
“Getting the right programming is the key to ATG’s success in both the regions and the West End – and an awareness and understanding of our audiences and individual venues is very important. I feel confident that with my team, we can continue to secure quality shows for our theatres and attract good product from top producers. We have an additional benefit in being able to programme some of our own productions and co-productions in the regional venues, and then bring them into our West End theatres. This is a very exciting time for the programming operation.“
