NIGEL HAVERS INVITES AUDIENCES TO TAKE A SEAT AT THE CHURCHILL THEATRE BROMLEY
Issued : 6 December 2005
Nigel Havers celebrated his record-breaking run in the play Rebecca at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley this week, by helping the theatre to launch its new seat-naming scheme.
Rebecca, which is soon to enter the Guinness Book of Records for achieving record-breaking audiences across the country, surpassed all previous ticket sales records to become the Churchill Theatre’s most successful drama production. Every seat in the house was sold, with many patrons queuing up each night for ticket returns.
Nigel Havers marked this success by agreeing to become patron to the theatre’s seat-naming campaign. Initially only available to those who are Theatre Friends, this new scheme allows patrons to celebrate a friend or loved one by naming one of the theatre’s brand-new seats in their honour.
The proud owner of the theatre’s first seat dedication, Nigel Havers said, “I am thrilled to launch the Churchill Theatre’s Name A Seat campaign by securing my own name-plate on the first of the new seats. I hope that you too will take this wonderful opportunity to celebrate the Theatre we know and love!”
ENDS
The cost of naming a theatre seat is £125 until 31 December, and is available to members of the Theatre Friends scheme (for which membership costs from £16).
For further information on the scheme please contact 020 8290 8225.
