Issued : 13 January 2005
Producers David Ian (for Clear Channel Entertainment) and Howard Panter (for Ambassador Theatre Group) are delighted to announce a new joint venture company FIRST FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT, which they have formed to produce fresh, high quality pantomimes across the UK.
FIRST FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT is funded and supported by Clear Channel Entertainment (CCE) and Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG). Its initial eight pantomimes will be produced for the Christmas 2005 / 2006 season, playing many of the UK’s most prestigious and successful regional venues, including the King’s Theatre in Glasgow, Milton Keynes Theatre, the New Victoria Theatre in Woking, the Theatre Royal Brighton and the New Wimbledon Theatre. Several major stars are already committed to the new pantomimes and will be announced soon. The highest calibre creative teams are also being assembled to bring new standards of excellence to the UK pantomime scene.
In addition, David Ian and Howard Panter are building an expert pantomime production and marketing team. They are delighted to announce, as the first member of the new team, the hugely experienced Kevin Wood as Chief Executive. Other key creative and production appointments will be announced soon.

“It’s such a thrill to be working with so many talented people and to have the opportunity to reinvigorate what is one of the very best theatrical experiences available to our audiences.”
Kevin Wood, Chief Executive, First Family Entertainment
“This sort of opportunity comes along once in a lifetime. After twenty years as an independent producer, I am delighted to join this new venture. Together we will reinstate the traditional values of pantomime. Our new productions will set new standards of excellence and pantomime will be back where it belongs – at the vibrant centre of Britain’s theatre!”
