Position: Development Manager

Venue: Milton Keynes Theatre

HOURS:Part Time (20 hours per week)

RESPONSIBILE TO:Acting Head of Marketing & Sales, through Acting Marketing Manager

RESPONSIBILE FOR:Development Assistant

MAIN PURPOSE:

To assist the Acting Head of Sales & Marketing and Acting Marketing Manager in developing relationships with strategic partners and businesses throughout the region and to take a lead on delivering agreed outcomes and cross-promotional activities.

To take a lead on the recruitment and retention of corporate members at all levels of the scheme and to actively source new business sponsorship opportunities for Milton Keynes Theatre – to meet agreed targets.

To oversee the work of the Development Assistant and to maintain and increase memberships across the organisation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• To play a lead role in delivering agreed outcomes alongside businesses from throughout the region in conjunction with the Acting Head of Sales & Marketing and the wider marketing team.
• To initiate a strategy for the recruitment and retention of friends, corporate members and sponsors of Milton Keynes Theatre in order to meet revenue targets.
• To consolidate existing and develop new relationships with friends and corporate members with a view to encouraging loyalty and renewal/upgrade of membership.
• To initiate the development of the membership schemes and to offer an excellent level of service that is sensitive and responsive to requirements of the members.
• To undertake research as appropriate in order to develop and enhance the friends and corporate membership schemes.
• To raise the profile of the membership scheme amongst the business community of Milton Keynes through attending networking and business development meetings/seminars – and through delivering tangible benefits to business partners.
• To develop strong business-to-business links within the Milton Keynes and surrounding area’s corporate community.
• To actively identify and promote membership, hospitality and sponsorship opportunities at MKT to the business community in order to cultivate new and potential corporate members.
• To identify and respond to potential sponsorship opportunities for local, regional and national businesses to include our extensive Education & Outreach programme.
• As required to organise and attend various weekend/evening friends and corporate hospitality events.
• To oversee the Development Assistant’s administrative and promotional responsibilities with regard to the Friends, Millennium Club and Corporate membership schemes
• To liase closely with other members of the Marketing team to maintain effective departmental communication.
• To develop proficiency in appropriate software to ensure efficient administration of membership revenues.
• To attend training courses as required in order to further self-development.
• To adhere to all Health and Safety procedures to minimise the risk of injury and accident.
• To carry out any other delegated tasks that may reasonably be allocated by the Marketing Manager to assist the company to achieve its business objectives.
