BEST NEW PLAY

TOM STOPPARD’s newest play, ROCK‘N’ROLL, spans the years from 1968 - 1990 from the double perspective of Prague, where a rock'n'roll band comes to symbolise resistance to the Communist regime - and of Cambridge, where the verities of love and death are shaping the lives of three generations in the family of a Marxist philosopher.

TOM STOPPARD has again joined forces with director TREVOR NUNN for this, their first play together since the acclaimed productions of THE COAST OF UTOPIA (NT: 2002) and ARCADIA (NT: 1993). An outstanding cast includes DAVID CALDER, EMMA FIELDING and DOMINIC WEST.

Following a sold out run at the Royal Court - ROCK'N'ROLL transferred to the Duke of York's Theatre where it will run until 25th February before leaving London's West End for Broadway.
