Teachers
There have been a lot of changes in the Education Department recently but now we are fully staffed and eager to hear from teachers regarding activities that we have programmed at the theatre and outreach work that we can deliver or organise to take place within school settings.
Below are some of the activities and engagement opportunities that we offer, however we are keen to hear from teachers who would like support, advice, activities or insights that are specific to the groups and curriculum’s they are teaching.
Workshops
We are able to visit schools and deliver workshops on a variety of themes, styles and for a wide range of abilities. If you require something very specialised, get in touch and we may be able to find a facilitator for you.
Resource Packs
Resource packs for some shows are available so please contact us if you would like a one.
In-school talks
If you would like us to come in and talk to a class or perhaps an assembly, on a certain aspect of the theatre, we can design a presentation that is appropriate for your needs.
Partnership Companies
We work closely with Northern Ballet Theatre who visit the Theatre twice a year and are eager to work in schools and can adapt workshops to suit specific schemes of work and texts, including the work that they are currently touring. NBT will be here in November with A Midsummer Night’s Dream so if you would like to discuss working with them in some way, please call Jodie Gibson on 01908 547 606.
Pre & Post-show Talks
These are scheduled for shows whenever possible and are an opportunity for audience members to ask company members, writers and or directors questions on the production and can be an ideal opportunity for students to gain valuable insights into professional theatre.
