Access Information

The Old Vic aims to be welcoming and accessible to all and we are committed to making your visit as easy and enjoyable as possible. However, the Theatre is nearly 200 years old and disabled access may be restricted in certain areas by the building's physical layout.

There are seven steps into the Stalls level of the auditorium. Other areas of the auditorium are only accessible via several flights of stairs and are therefore not recommended for anyone with limited mobility. For more information and help with your requirements, please contact the box office on 0870 060 6628.

Booking Tickets
To ensure the best choice of seats, we advise you to book in advance and we'll send you your tickets before the performance. Concessions are available for disabled patrons - please ask for details when booking and mention if you require an aisle seat, a seat near the front or if you have any other requirements.

Wheelchair Users
There are two wheelchair spaces in the Stalls. Please inform the box office at the time of booking if you require a wheelchair space. When you arrive at the Theatre, please make yourself known to a member of the front-of-house team (there's always someone outside the main entrance from at least an hour before the performance). They will escort you to the Webber Street side of the building where there is ramped access leading directly into the Stalls. There are accessible lavatories close to this entrance. There's a disabled parking bay in Webber Street close to the ramped entrance.

Facilities for Deaf and Hearing Impaired People
The auditorium is fitted with a Sennheiser infra-red system. Two types of hearing device are available: headsets for people who don't use hearing aids, but would like amplified sound; or neck loops for use with a hearing aid by switching it to the 'T' position. Headsets should be collected from the cloakroom in the main foyer before the performance. A returnable deposit of £5 is payable. Please inform the box office when booking if you'd like to make use of the system and they will advise on where best to sit. There is also an induction loop point at the box office counter in the main foyer. To book for sign language interpreted performances, minicom 0870 060 6641 or e-mail kate.mack@oldvictheatre.com
