Position: Assistant Ticketing Manager

Venue: Richmond Theatre

Hours:39 hours per week to include occasional Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays on a rota system.

Main Purpose:
To support the Ticketing Manager (TM) with the daily running of the Sales Team of Richmond Theatre by delivering the highest standards of customer service and efficiency in order to maximise sales. To deputise for the Ticketing Manager in their absence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To monitor staff performance and promote a pro-active approach to sales, reporting development requirements to the TM in order to maintain an effective team.
  • To assist the TM in training staff in order to achieve the required performance standards. To include emphasis on the delivery of first class customer care, with specific attention given to positive phrasing, business awareness, access issues and a sound understanding of the overall theatre operation.
  • To attend meetings and represent the department as necessary.
  • To work in collaboration with the TM on achieving the free-flow of information regarding the venue and forthcoming shows.
  • To liase with the Visiting Company Managers and other external personnel to promote and deliver Box Office services.
  • To be able to fulfil all management duties unsupervised, and to cover for the TM as required to ensure that business objectives are achieved at all times.
  • To process agency/trade bookings in accordance with procedures established.
  • To provide the FOH department with daily performance related information.
  • To administer all payments accurately in order to maximise sales and minimise loss.
  • To be responsible for cashing up sales at the end of the shift/day where appropriate.
  • To assist the TM with sales and redemption reporting for SOLT theatre tokens and to order and monitor stock of tokens for sale from venue box office.
  • To Duty Manage performance in-comings.
  • In collaboration with the TM, to assist the Marketing department in updating and ‘cleaning’ data on the customer database.
  • To resolve customer service problems and initiate corrective action in accordance with the guidelines established by the Regional Sales Manager.
  • To provide weekly payroll/timesheets to venue Administrator as delegated by the TM.
  • To liase with visiting company managers over ticket requests and cast allocations when appropriate.
  • To fulfil the role of Sales Advisor as required.
  • To process telephone bookings for customers with any specific access requirements as requested by the Ticket Centre.
