Madama Butterfly

The tale of the young Cio-Cio San and her abandonment by her dashing American husband cannot fail to melt even the hardest heart. A devastating portrayal of what can happen when an individual sacrifices their cultural identity, Madama Butterfly remains the most intensely moving of all Puccini's operas.

Soprano Rebecca Nash appears as the desperate Butterfly with John Hudson as the heartless Pinkerton. Francesco Corti conducts.
