  • Operated and managed by The Ambassador Theatre Group Ltd, renowned for its productions and highly successful management and ownership of theatre venues throughout the country
  • Established as one of the most successful theatres in the country presenting a wide range of quality drama, record breaking musicals, opera, dance and family entertainment each year
  • Welcomes a quarter of a million theatregoers to over 40 outstanding productions a year performing for about 49 weeks in each year
  • Attracts up to 400 young people to education events, workshops and summer school activities each year
  • Offers tours of its historic building, the auditorium and stage area to the general public (and free of charge to Friends and Members)
  • Acts as a venue for local arts organisations and charities

The Richmond Theatre Trust

Richmond Theatre works in partnership with The Richmond Theatre Trust Ltd, a registered charity which has responsibilities for fundraising to support the theatre's education and outreach work, and disabled access facilities. The Theatre receives no public subsidy for its day-to-day operation and relies on its self-generating income and the continuing valuable support of its sponsors, friends, patrons and grant-making trusts.

Richmond Theatre Trust Patrons include Samantha Bond, Peter Davison, Jerry Hall, Susan Hampshire OBE, Nigel Havers, Jane Horrocks, Sir Derek Jacobi CBE, Cherie Lunghi, Nigel Planer, Peter Sallis and Gwen Taylor.

Restoration Levy
Richmond Theatre is one of the most historic and prestigious in the country. We thank our customers for their support for the Restoration Levy, which was introduced in 2006. From this Season we will be contributing £1 from each ticket sold to be used to continue this work.

This summer we will reseat the dress circle, recarpet the dress circle, the bar and the stairwells, undertake some remedial work on the seating in the stalls and hopefully also start on some of the refurbishment work in the stalls bar including air conditioning. A complete renovation of the Stalls level will follow in August 2008. We will keep you updated on the amounts raised and restoration projects completed. With your help we can ensure that this theatre’s heritage is safeguarded. Thank you.
