Position: Chargehand (Stage & Electrics)
Venue: Comedy Theatre
Hours:Full-Time
Reporting To:Technical HOD’s
This busy venue is looking for a positive, bright and dedicated individual to meet the demands of this exciting new role. If you like a challenge, enjoy meeting deadlines and have a variety of technical skills then we would like to hear from you.
Main Purpose
To support the Technical HOD’s in all the technical department’s acitivities and to be responsible for the smooth running of stage performances and maintenance of the theatre.
Key responsibilities:
- To ensure the safe and efficient get-in, rigging and get-out of all productions..
- To ensure the safe and efficient use of storage areas within the theatre
- To work closely with visiting companies to ensure their technical needs are met economically whilst complying with contractual terms.
- To work closely with the Technical HOD’s to oversee the ongoing maintenance of the building.
The Ideal Candidate Will Meet The Following Criteria:
- A working knowledge of production electrics, sound and carpentry.
- Experience of working in a receiving house.
- Be able to work as part of a team.
- Be prepared for physical duties.
- Have good organisational and communication skills.
- Have a good working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
