Position: Stage Technician
Venue: Richmond Theatre
Responsible To:Stage Manager (Technical Manager)
Responsible For:Casual Stage Technicians
Hours:Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Main Purpose
To assist the Technical Management Team in all duties relating to the technical operations of the Theatre, including shows, fit-ups and get-outs, as well as the maintenance of the Theatre’s mechanical and engineering services. To support and assist the Stage Manager in all other aspects of the Technical Department’s activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- To assist the Stage Manager in the safe and efficient get-in, rigging and get-outs of stage related aspects of ALL productions, and to ensure the smooth operation of shows.
- To operate the flys, and/or work as part of the stage crew during shows.
- To maintain house and toured equipment at the discretion and direction of the Stage Manager.
- To provide general maintenance and first line trouble-shooting of the Theatre’s plant and machinery.
- To ensure business and departmental objectives are achieved within the team, including multi-skilling where appropriate.
- To provide support for the Stage Manager with the management of casual crew.
- To assist with other departments e.g. Admin, Creative Learning, development and Front of House, as appropriate to ensure that joint mechanisms are in place for the effective implementation of events with the aim of facilitating wider access.
- To attend training courses as required in order to further self development.
- To adhere to all Health and Safety procedures to minimise the risk of injury and accidents.
- To complete any other delegated task that may assist the Company in achieving its business objectives.
