Madama Butterfly

The tale of young Cio-Cio San and her abandonment by her American husband cannot fail to melt even the hardest heart. A devastating portrayal of what can happen when an individual sacrifices their cultural identity, Madama Butterfly remains the most intensely moving of all Puccini's operas.

Soprano Rebecca Nash stars as the desperate Butterfly with John Hudson as the heartless Pinkerton. Francesco Corti and Derek Clark share the conducting honours.
