Scottish Ballet Spring Season Scottish Ballet is back with a breathtaking programme of dance and music, not to be missed! Agon, a triumph at the Edinburgh International Festival, is a masterpiece by George Balanchine which tests the physical and expressive limits of classical ballet. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the death of Scottish Ballet's founder, Peter Darrell, the Company will perform his 1971 work Othello, Shakespeare's tradgedy re-imagined as a dramatic ballet set to Liszt's Faust Symphony. Ashley Page's Olivier Award-nominated Room of Cooks, is a masterfully compressed drama cackling with sexual tension. Krzysztof Pastor's colourful In Light & Shadow fuses Bach's elegant orchestral suites with speedy, flirtatoius dancing, making for a breathtaking finale. Please note that the performance on Fri 13 Apr is a celebration of the life of Peter Darrell and will present new works by the winners of the Peter Darrell Choreographic award: Daina Loosmore and Vanessa Haska performed by Scottish Ballet and Scottish Dance Theatre respectively. The show will be completed by Darrell's Othello and Pastor's In Light & Shadow. Groups Discount Available Subscribe and Save! Best Discount for Friends Free Pre-Show Talk Dance Offer |
