Comedy in a class of its own
Nathaniel Parker (Inspector Lynley Mysteries) and Christopher Timothy (All Creatures Great and Small, Doctors) star in
Quartermaine's Terms
Directed by Harry Burton
Nathaniel Parker is one of the nations most loved actors, known to millions as Inspector Lynley in The Inspector Lynley Mysteries. His other recent TV credits include Bleak House and Nuremburg. Here he joins forces with one of the UK's greatest playwrights, Simon Gray (Butley, The Holy Terror, A Common Persuit) in this brand new production of the funny and wickedly sharp Quartermaine's Terms.
Voted as one of the Top 100 Plays of the Century by the National Theatre, Quartermaine's Terms colourfully portrays the life of a bumbling teacher St.John Quartermaine and his colleagues at the struggling Cull-Loomis English Language School in Cambridge. It's the early 1960s and this quintessentially English gentleman is as much a part of the school's furniture as the blackboards and chalk and rubbers. But while Quartermaine is completely absorbed by school matters, never quite managing to make an impact, his colleagues are gossiping about their varied and exciting lives. As their humourous trials and tribulations are shared between the group, Quartermaine finds himself increasingly bewildered by the whirlwind of life beyond the staffroom - resulting in some painfully funny situations.
Nathaniel Parker leads an impressive cast in this award-winning play shining with intelligent humour and sharply observed wit. Book now.
