In My Name

By Steven Hevey
Presented by Yaller Skunk Theatre
Starring James Alexandrou, Ray Panthaki, Kevin Watt and Adeel Akhtar
Director Julia Stubbs

Transferring from the sell-out run at The Old Red Lion.

James Alexandrou, who made his name playing Martin Fowler in Eastenders, will be making his West End debut in this visceral and terrifying dark comedy by Paines Plough writer Steven Hevey.

“For the first time in my life today I didn’t feel alone.”

It’s not easy being optimistic in London but on the day after winning the bid for the Olympics the world felt a lot brighter. And then a bomb went off.

In My Name is a bold and funny insight into the consequences of allowing life to pass you by because no matter how much you bury your head in the sand, the world has a way of forcing itself right through your front door.

This is what new writing should be about.
The Stage

**** Hevey’s first full-length play has skin-tingling punchiness.
Whats on Stage

Julia Stubbs’ production captures the energy running through Hevey’s script, the tension and the sharp social observation.
Metro

The performances are excellent. Panthaki in particular is engrossing.
The Times

This is a powerful reminder of that awful day three years ago, and marks Hevey and Stubbs out as talents worth watching.
Evening Standard

James Alexandrou has a wonderful stage presence… An extremely enjoyable evening
Mark Ravenhill on Radio 4

**** A cruelly funny black comedy thriller…played up to the hilt by the four protagonists. James Alexandrou is louche, funny and rather loveable as Grim, Kevin Watt's performance vibrates like a coiled spring, and the performance of Ray Panthaki as Royal is charismatic and stunning.
