AN EXCITING AND INSPIRING EVENING OF DANCE

Phoenix Dance Theatre

Phoenix Dance has an international reputation for presenting inspiring and entertaining contemporary dance, performed by a formidable group of dancers handpicked from around the world.

This selection features both classic modern dance by eminent choreographer José Limón and the latest stylish offerings from the company’s acclaimed Artistic Director Javier De Frutos.

Limón’s masterpiece The Moor’s Pavane captures the drama and passion of Shakespeare’s Othello; whilst Chaconne is a solo that Limón created for himself, inspired by the profound quality of the Bach composition that accompanies it.

Blue Roses draws inspiration from selected passages from The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams – reflecting De Frutos’ lifelong passion for the work of the American playwright; whilst Paseillo uses subtle nuances between dancers to form intriguing relationships.

This stunning evening of contemporary dance is a must-see for all dance lovers.
