"A Giant of a play!"
Clive Barnes, New York Post

Bernard Pomerance's acclaimed play is based on the brief life of John Merrick. Abandoned as a child and shunned by society the horribly deformed Merrick survives as a freak show attraction until a famous young doctor rescues him from his life on the streets. Evolving from a sensational object of pity to the urbane and witty favourite of the aristocracy and literati, his belief that he can become a man like any other is a dream tragically never realised.

The Elephant Man is still as powerful and contemporary as when it first received critical acclamations for the 1979 Broadway production, winning all major drama awards including three Tonys, three Obies, the Drama Desk Award and the New York Drama Critics award.

The cast is led by Marc Pickeing as Merrick and Ayden Callaghan as Treaves with Leon Bearman, Katie Bonna, Ronald Fernee, Stephan Mc Gill and Jennifer Taylor.
