From the man-of-the-moment playwright of All About My Mother and Southwark Fair, a brilliant, spiky and touching new South Bank comedy, performed by TMA Award nominee Lucy Briers (BBC tv's Pride & Prejudice). Originally presented as a rehearsed reading for National Theatre Platforms, this world premiere production is directed by Time Out Bright Young Thing of Theatre, Toby Frow.

'TODAY - AFTER I HAD THE AMAZING SEX, GOT CLOBBERED, KILLED THE DOG AND PARKED THE HIJACKED ICE-CREAM VAN - I FOUND THE POP LEGEND'S HOUSE IN GREENWICH...'

Small-time hack and seeker of minor adventure, Rachel sets off down the Thames Path to Greenwich to interview Lulu for her tabloid's glossy supplement. But between London Bridge and the pop legend's mirrored hallway lies a series of unpredicted and comic events.

Some Kind of Bliss is a play about how a walk on an everyday Wednesday can become an odyssey that turns your life upside down.

'Deliciously funny, packed with sparky dialogue, sharply drawn characters and cleverly developed running gags'
Charles Spencer, Daily Telegraph on Southwark Fair: National Theatre

'This is a play I want all my friends to see'
Alastair Macaulay, Financial Times on Southwark Fair : National Theatre

'An absolutely glorious performance from Lucy Briers'
The Guardian on Cloud Nine : Sheffield Crucible

This production is supported by the Stage One Bursary Scheme for New Producers.
To coincide with the world premiere performance of Some Kind of Bliss, a Faber & Faber programme / play-text edition will be available to purchase from 20th November at the Trafalgar Studios.
