by Owen McCafferty

starring James Nesbitt (Cold Feet,Murphy's Law), Conleth Hill (The Producers, Democracy)and Jim Norton(Port Authority,The Weir)

A new production of Owen McCaffery's comedy Shoot the Crow will open in London at Trafalgar Studios on Wednesday 28 September, with a press night on Tuesday 11 October.

A Belfast building site. Four tilers on the make, each dreaming of better things. But not all of them can commit the same petty crime. Acutely observed and brilliantly witty, Shoot the Crow is a hilarious and moving homage to the working man.

Trafalgar Studios houses two exciting new spaces - the first two such theatre studios existing under one roof in the heart of London. This combination will allow the West End to present a much wider range of productions than has previously been offered to central London audiences.

Owen McCafferty was born in Belfast in 1961. His recent work inlcudes his new stage version of JP Miller's Days of Wine and Roses,Closing Time for the National Theatre's 2002 Loft Season and Scenes From The Big Picture at the National Theatre's Cottesloe Theatre in 2003.

The production will be directed by Robert Delamere. His recent directorial credits include Earthly Paradise at the Almeida Theatre,Darwin in Paradise and In Arabia We'd All Be Kings, both at Hampstead Theatre and Accidental Death of an Anarchist at the Donmar Warehouse.

Shoot the Crow will be staged in Trafalgar Studios 1, the larger of the two spaces which opened in May 2004 with the Royal Shakespeare Company's Othello, starring Anthony Sher and went on to present highly successful runs of the Watermill Theatre's production of Sweeney Todd and the Young Vic's celebrated production of Simply Heavenly.

Trafalgar Studio 2 will open in October 2005 as a dynamic and intimate 100 seat theatre space. Trafalgar Studio 2 will present a range of innovative productions from a variety of theatre companies, focusing on new work and including cabaret performances and late night comedy.
