In fear of their lives, Rosalind and Celia flee to a forest. Escaping what they most fear, they both discover what they both love. Sparkling with wit, this joyous tale of a girl disguised as a boy - who tempts the man she loves to fall for the boy she isn't - is flavoured with all the longing and pain of everyone's first big romance. A brilliant cast of young British actors is led by multi - award winning Helen McCrory (Donmar's Twelfth Night, Uncle Vanya) as Rosalind with rising star Sienna Miller (Layer Cake, Alfie) as Celia. Dominic West (Mona Lisa Smile, Forgotten, 28 Days) plays Orlando. Also starring is the comic Sean Hughes along with Reece Shearsmith of The League of Gentlemen and Clive Rowe (Carousel, Simply Heavenly, Divas at the Donmar). This new production by Young Vic Artistic Director David Lan, designed by Richard Hudson (The Lion King), keeps the play in France where it is set but updates it to the late 1940s with music by Tim Sutton in the style of the great French chanson.
